Idris Pugh is a Cardiff small-press editor and poet in the novels of Axiom Nix, where fragments of his notebook appear as epigraphs. His own book is the marginalia of a single year: the dead voice he is translating and the dying voice in the next county turning out to be versions of the same loss.
